What do training snacks eat with?

How to restore the form lost during the holidays? Concerned about body condition and health, people usually choose lengthy classes in the gym. But there are better ways …

Winter holidays – as a series of visits of annoying relatives. No matter how expensive and difficult, it is impossible to refuse. Christmas, New Year, again Christmas and again New Year, albeit old … Finally, Chinese New Year … And then Valentine’s Day, February 23 and March 8 …

And every time guests, a plentiful feast. How much is eaten and drunk during these holidays is difficult to calculate. The British scientists, however, have managed and have claimed that on their islands on Christmas days people absorb 6,000 kilocalories, three times exceeding reasonable norms.

Those who did not quite give up on themselves, have to pay for trips to the gym and long trainings. In the UK , training center owners earn nearly 3 billion pounds each January. Business is on its stomach, so to speak.

The National Health Service – the British Ministry of Health – recommends spending at least 150 minutes a week on fitness training, aerobics and strength training. Despite the fact that the January peaks of health concern compensate for the consequences of stormy holidays only partially, people willingly spend money, realizing that there is no life without movement.

Traditionally, the gym, despite the need for expenses, is considered the best tool for the effective expulsion of excess calories from the body. However, this opinion has recently been disputed by scientists.

A group of Canadian researchers who published their work in The Journal of Physiology concluded that …

short-term high-intensity exercises are as effective as regular endurance training, but at the same time they require less time, which means they are useful not only for health, but also for the wallet.

Another kind of non-traditional methods of physical education is “training snacks,” as they were called by the authors of a study published by the journal Diabetologia.

Researchers at endocrinologists compared the blood sugar levels of patients who exercised daily for 30 minutes continuously and those who instead exercised 10 minutes three times a day.

It turned out that with a few short workouts, keeping blood sugar under control is easier and more effective than doing it once a day.

Researchers recommend arranging these “training snacks” before each meal.

The authors of a recent similar study compared the effectiveness of sugar management with daily walks. It turned out that …

ten-minute walks after each meal more actively affect the blood sugar level of diabetics than 30 minutes of continuous walking.

Why is so much attention paid to diabetics? There are 9.6 million people in Russia , fourth in the world ranking. In the UK, more than 4 million people suffer from type 2 diabetes . The National Health Service spends 10% of its budget on the fight against the disease.

The listed studies of scientists do not mean that it is time to close gyms. However, before you enroll in a group and pay money, you can try other, less costly, but no less effective methods of physical activity. To be healthy does not have to be rich.
